Council Purpose and Composition

The GMA Council manage the affairs of the Graduate Management Association. The council consists of the following positions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • 4 Associate Members, one of whom shall be an international student
  • 3 other persons(graduate members) 
  • 1 appointee by invitation at the Council’s discretion who is not an Associate Member, a Postgraduate, a Life Member nor a member

Joining the GMA Council

The fact that it is always better to give than to receive, is just one reason GMA members volunteer to be on the GMA Council. Other reasons are to network amongst a highly selective group, build a new skill set, add to their CV, put into practice new skills, and to gain experience for future Board roles.

The GMA Council is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting (typically held in October). Nomination forms are distributed in advance of the AGM and must be received prior to the AGM.

The GMA is currently not recruiting for new council positions as all positions have been filled.  The next call will be in September leading up to the AGM when council positions become open due to their respective end of terms.
